Marina Shafir may not hold a title in AEW right now, but that hasn’t stopped her from dominating the wrestling scene. As a key member of The Death Riders – AEW’s most powerful faction, Marina is making a big impact both inside and outside the company.
While she’s yet to win a championship under AEW’s banner, the 37-year-old has just achieved a major milestone elsewhere. Marina recently celebrated 400 days as the DEFY Women’s Champion, the longest reign of her wrestling career. She won the title back in May 2024 by defeating Vert Vixen and has successfully defended it ever since, including a recent win against Vipress at the Vortex event.
Before joining AEW, Marina had a background in MMA and spent time in WWE starting in 2018. After switching to AEW, she stayed active on the independent wrestling circuit, continuing to build her legacy.
Marina was also part of the wild Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW’s Double or Nothing event last month. During the chaotic match, she used a staple gun on fellow wrestler Swerve Strickland, even stapling his tongue. Afterwards, she posted about it on Instagram, sharing a chilling photo of the moment.
Although The Death Riders lost the match, the group still holds a top spot in AEW, and Marina’s reputation continues to rise. Her strength, fearlessness, and loyalty to her faction make her one of the most respected names in AEW’s women’s division.
With 400 days and counting as DEFY Champion, fans are watching closely to see how long Marina Shafir can keep her streak alive and whether her next big title will be in AEW.
