Romilly Glover is a 15-year-old actor, singer, model, and voiceover artist from the UK, with a secondary base in Houston, Texas. Her passion for performance began early—she’s been singing and acting for as long as she can remember. In addition to her love for the arts, Romilly is also a skilled swimmer, field hockey player, saxophonist, and songwriter. Her original music reflects her values and vision: promoting kindness, self-worth, and protecting the planet. She is currently releasing her debut album one single at a time.
HELLO ROMILLY GLOVER, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! WHAT GOT YOU INTO ACTING THAT MADE YOU REALIZE THAT IT WAS YOUR CHOSEN PATH?
My love of acting was truly sparked after seeing Hairspray in London’s West End. From that moment, I knew I wanted to be on stage and screen, telling stories that matter. Growing up watching British sitcoms only fueled my dream of seeing my name in the credits one day. I’m driven by a relentless work ethic and refuse to give up on the goals I set for myself.
WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER ACTORS?
I am deeply committed to my craft and am especially drawn to dramatic roles where I can explore raw emotion with honesty and nuance. My performances are grounded in truth, shaped by real-life experiences and a genuine connection to my characters. Whether it’s on stage or screen, I bring intensity, vulnerability, and emotional depth to every role.
WHAT KIND OF TRAINING HAVE YOU RECEIVED WITH NYLA TALENT AGENCY?
I have trained extensively with NYLA Talent, where I credit coaches like Robert Vito, Connor Weil, and James Lugo for helping my growth in both acting and music. With NYLA’s support, I gained the confidence to share my voice and was even able to begin work on my first album. I am grateful for the entire NYLA team and the opportunities they’ve opened up for me.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE ROLES YOU’VE BEEN INVOLVED IN?
I am no stranger to the stage, having performed in long-running productions like Joseph, Annie, Oliver, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, and pantomimes that combine acting, singing, and dance. I especially treasures my time in the studio recording my album—an experience that allowed me to express myself through my own words and melodies.
WHAT ACCENTS AND DIALECTS CAN YOU DO?
I have a strong ear for accents and dialects. I’m proficient in RP (Queen’s English), standard English, southern/London accents, standard American, and I am currently working on a Southern American accent. I can also perform Welsh, Scottish, Scouse, and Irish dialects, and I am always eager to learn more.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE PROJECTS THAT YOU TYPICALLY PREFER? STAGE OR SCREEN? GENRES?
While I enjoy all forms of performance, screen acting is where I feel most at home, having recently completed a filmed role. I have a particular interest in comedy and drama, and I am often told I convey emotion powerfully through my eyes. I am also drawn to voice acting and would love to work on period pieces set in England. That said, musical theatre holds a special place in my heart, as it allows me to combine all my talents on one stage.
WHAT IS YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS WHEN PREPARING FOR AN AUDITION?
My audition process is grounded in empathy and truth. I use techniques like the ‘5 W’s’ and the ‘Magic if’ to fully inhabit the characters, connecting deeply with their emotions and bringing their stories to life with authenticity. To me, preparing for a role isn’t about pretending—it’s about stepping into someone else’s shoes and telling their truth with respect.

HAS THERE BEEN ONE PARTICULAR MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER THAT YOU’RE MOST PROUD OF?
My music is an extension of this same passion. Through lyrics and melody, I aim to uplift others and remind them that they are enough. My songs speak to resilience, worth, and self-belief, messages I hold close to my heart.
I recently landed a role in a film, marking a major milestone in my career. Each opportunity, whether in acting or music, helps me grow and gets me one step closer to my dream of making a lasting impact through my work.
WHAT’S BEEN THE PROS AND CONS OF PURSUING YOUR CHOSEN CAREER?
I acknowledge that while the entertainment industry can be tough—especially balancing rejection, school, and the pressure of public image—my love for acting and music far outweighs the challenges. I remain focused, grounded, and determined.
WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES GROWING UP THAT HELPED TO MOLD YOU INTO WHO YOU ARE TODAY?
I credit my mum as my biggest influence: a strong, hardworking woman who taught me the value of staying true to myself and never giving up. I also draws inspiration from Rebel Wilson for her fearless individuality, and Adele, for her raw emotion and authenticity in both life and music.
IF YOU HAD ONE MESSAGE TO GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
If I could go back and say one thing to my younger self, it would be this: Keep going. Even when things feel tough, even when people don’t understand you or try to bring you down. Don’t give up. Believe in yourself, even when it feels like no one else does. You have something special inside you, and the world needs to see it.
Stay true to who you are. Don’t change to fit in, and don’t hide the parts of you that make you different; those are your strengths. I know there were moments when bullies made you feel small, but don’t let their words define you. You are worthy, just as you are.
There will be highs and lows, but everything you’re going through is shaping you into the person you’re meant to be. Keep dreaming big, keep working hard, and most importantly … never stop believing that you can.
IF YOU WEREN’T A PASSIONATE ACTOR, WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU BE DOING?
If I was not so passionate about acting, I would be doing something in criminal psychology or law. I have always been fascinated by the way people think and behave, especially when it comes to understanding why people are the way they are, and what drives their actions.
I love digging deeper into emotions, choices, and human behaviour, which is actually something that links closely to acting. Whether I am building a character or studying a real-life case, I find it really interesting to explore what’s going on beneath the surface.
Helping people, understanding them, and hopefully making a difference. That’s something I would want to be part of, whether I am in front of a camera or in a courtroom.
AS A YOUNG PERSON NAVIGATING HOLLYWOOD, HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR ROOTS AND HERITAGE WILL INFLUENCE YOUR WORK AND THE ROLES YOU CHOOSE?
My background is that of a young woman from England raised by a single mum, and my experience with moving often and overcoming bullying, have given me empathy, resilience, and emotional range—qualities I bring into every performance. With roots in a family connected to the Royal Navy, I also learned discipline and the importance of showing up with integrity.
IN TODAY’S HOLLYWOOD, THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT PUSH FOR GREATER INCLUSIVITY AND REPRESENTATION. HOW DO YOU SEE YOUR WORK CONTRIBUTING TO THIS MOVEMENT, AND WHAT CHANGES DO YOU STILL HOPE TO SEE IN THE INDUSTRY?
I am passionate about representation and inclusivity in the arts and want to challenge traditional industry moulds. I aim to be a voice for those who feel overlooked—proving that talent, heart, and dedication matter more than appearance or background.
I want those who are different and don’t fit into the ‘traditional structure of what should be on screen’ to feel confident and like the fact that they are all good enough just the way that they are. Whether this be through singing, acting, modelling or dancing. I want to help those people who’re different, to see their worth and realise they belong.
WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM JOB BE?
My dream job would be to star in a dramatic, empowering story. Something that takes the audience on a powerful journey and really moves them. Ideally, I would love to work with big studios like Disney or Universal, because they create films and shows that reach people all over the world and have a huge impact.
I would like a role where I can show a wide range of emotions: from strength and courage to vulnerability and hope. To me, acting is about telling stories that make people feel something real and meaningful, and my dream is to be part of projects that inspire and empower audiences everywhere.
FOR FUN! IF YOU WENT BACK TO THE GOLDEN ERA OF HOLLYWOOD, WHICH ACTOR DO YOU RESONATE WITH MOST AND WHY?
If I could travel back to Hollywood’s golden era, I feel as though I would really resonate with Audrey Hepburn and James Dean. Audrey Hepburn stands out to me because she wasn’t just stunning, she had this unique blend of elegance, kindness, and strength. She was different from the usual stars of her time, and she always stayed true to herself. I admire how she used her fame for good causes and how her characters showed grace under pressure. Plus, her style and charm are timeless. I’d love to experience that world and carry a bit of her confidence.
On the other hand, James Dean speaks to me because of his rebellious spirit and raw emotion. He didn’t care what others thought, and he brought a powerful intensity to every role. That kind of passion and honesty is something I try to bring to my acting. He had bold, unique, and unforgettable qualities that really inspired me.
Both of them remind me that being true to yourself and embracing what makes you different is the key to standing out whether in the past or today.
HAVE YOU SET ANY 2025 PROFESSIONAL GOALS TO ACHIEVE?
For 2025, I have some exciting goals. First, I am looking forward to releasing my record. It’s been a passion project, and I can’t wait to share my music with the world. Music is such an important way for me to express myself and connect with others. I am also hoping to work on another movie or land a regular role on a TV show. Acting is a huge part of my life, and getting more opportunities to grow, challenge myself, and tell meaningful stories, is a big priority. Both music and acting are where my heart is, and I am ready to work hard and keep pushing toward my dreams in 2025.
WHAT DID YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT IPOP! IN JUNE?
I was super excited to be singing my own song at the iPOP! gala this June. It was such an amazing opportunity to share my music with an audience who really understands the industry. Performing my own songs means a lot to me because it’s a chance to show my true self and connect with people through my story. I was also really looking forward to meeting managers, agents, and casting directors. Being able to connect with industry professionals face-to-face is such a huge step for me. It’s a chance to learn, grow, and hopefully open doors to new opportunities in both music and acting.
iPOP! feels like a big moment where all my hard work can start to really pay off, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!
